Patients with heart failure are often complex and require investigation via a variety of mechanisms, including imaging, biomarkers and other testing.  Understanding the issues around new diagnoses as well as ongoing risk profiling of patients is important for patients with known or suspected heart failure.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

1)  understand the importance of natriuetic peptides for the diagnosis of heart failure in the acute and chronic environment.
2)  recognize the need for advanced biomarker treatment strategies.
