At the Annual General Meeting on June 20, 2023, Dr. Allison Venner completed her term as CSCC President. On behalf of CSCC Council, I would like to express my gratitude to her for leading our Society out of the pandemic era and into a highly visible, professional organization. Overcoming much uncertainty of returning to in-person gatherings, we’ve had two very successful national conferences bringing together our science and healthcare colleagues together. I’d like to highlight two other important items she introduced: the CSCC Council Handbook and the Regulation of the Profession and Advocacy Subcommittee. The handbook is visible on the new CSCC website and I’m confident this will spur interest and engagement of everyone to consider serving on Council. I also encourage our dear members to read her important article on regulation of Clinical Chemists in this month’s CSCC News. Thank you Dr. Venner for your service to the CSCC – the torch you pass is a shining light!
